PeopleTools 8.60 Component Search Framework

I recently made an amazing discovery while researching the new PeopleTools 8.60. Well I thought it was amazing anyway. Maybe you will too. Oracle continues to add new features allowing customers to configure PeopleSoft rather than to make potentially invasive and high maintenance customisations . REST Web Services - PART 1

PeopleTools REST Web Services Part 1 I recently presented at Oracle OpenWorld on the subject of REST web services in PeopleSoft. REST based web services were introduced in PeopleTools 8.52 and I'm hoping this series of blog posts will help newcomers to both Web Services and REST. What is REST? REpresentational State Transfer (REST) is a style of doing Web services that is becoming increasingly popular among web developers due to it's simplicity over SOAP and other methods. REST follows 4 basic principles 1) All content has a unique id by which it is referenced (URI) 2) services are invoked using standard WWW operations of GET, POST, PUT, DELETE 3) all REST services are stateless in that they retrieve a representation (copy) of the content requested 4) REST is synchronous only. PeopleTools 8.61 - Search Improvements

PeopleTools 8.61 is GA on Cloud Manager and I'm excited to see what's in this release. I've been tracking the release dates of PeopleTools for several years now and have calculated that the average number of days between each major PeopleTools release since 8.50 is on average 476 . As you can see from my data it's hovered around the 450 mark since the heady days of the first Fluid release of 8.54 . I know.... sad isn't it. (rumour has it I collect train numbers as well). All the PeopleTools GA dates, numbers of days between GA dates, the rolling average along with what I predicted the release to be and how many days adrift the prediction was can be found in the table below. For those that like a graph, see below. This shows how over time our predictions get more accurate. My predictions are in BLUE and the actual GA is in ORANGE.
